The new Opel Grandland X is now available to order from Opel dealerships around the country, including Flemings in Galway, having made its premiere at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt last month.

It is a compact SUV that is predicted to make waves in the booming SUV market, given its impressive look and price-performance ratio.

It is 4.48 metres long with a wheelbase of 2,675 millimetres, and offers generous space for up to five people in the interior. And with a load volume of 514 to 1,652 litres for luggage and sports equipment, the new Opel SUV is even on a par with extremely spacious compact class estate models.

The Grandland X has a first-class portfolio of ultra-modern assistance, infotainment and comfort features: Lane Departure Warning, Road Sign Recognition, Hill Start Assist and Radio 4.0 with Bluetooth hands-free phone capability come as standard on all models.

Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking and pedestrian detection, Driver Drowsiness Alert, Advanced Park Assist and the 360° Camera are available as options.

Characteristic first-class Opel comfort is ensured by AGR (Campaign for Healthier Backs) certified ergonomic seats as well as a heated steering wheel, seat heating front and rear and the tailgate which opens and closes with a simple kicking movement.

Drivers and passengers can enjoy top class connectivity with the latest generation of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible IntelliLink systems.

Smartphones can be charged wirelessly via inductive charging; while for music fans, a Denon premium sound system with eight loudspeakers and one subwoofer is available as an option.

In addition to the many driver assistance systems, the lively engines and optional electronic Grip Control traction also contribute to safe and enjoyable driving with the Grandland X.

Initially, two engines which boast excellent CO2 emissions will be available, a 1.2 Turbo petrol and a 1.6 diesel. Both engines can be combined with a modern six-speed manual or friction-optimized six-speed automatic transmission and come with Start/Stop as standard.

The new Grandland X will be priced from €27,995 (1.2 Petrol model).
