Galway Bay fm newsroom – Residents of a housing estate in Oranmore are growing increasingly concerned about what they describe as a dangerous hole in the area.

The hole has been left exposed in the Oranhill estate for 5 years and there are concerns for public safety.

Locals have appealed to politicians and the County Council to intervene to the get hole filled in.

The area is currently surrounded by hoarding and there is planning permission on the site, but the developer has failed to rectify the situation.

Despite repeated queries by Galway Bay fm News to the County Council planning and environment sections, there has been no response and no apparent progress in alleviating the residents’ concerns.
