Arts Week with Judy Murphy

Spotless, written by TV and theatre writer Gary Duggan, which stars Ciara O’Callaghan and Emma Willis, is coming to the Town Hall Theatre next Thursday, May 2, for one performance only, as part of a national tour of Ireland.

Spotless is part-drama, part-thriller, with a healthy dose of black humour. It tells the story of two very different women, Genevieve and Jenny, whose lives become intertwined when they find themselves (unbeknownst to each other) in a relationship with the same mysterious young man, Dean.

Time is running out for Genevieve (played by Ciara O’Callaghan), who is desperately trying to have a child, while Jenny (Emma Willis) is preparing for her Leaving Cert and is attempting to avoid getting entangled with the opposite sex.

Cork actress Emma plays Jeanette in the RTÉ-BBC hit drama The Young Offenders. She also featured RTE’s Can’t Cope Won’t Cope (as Amber) and Michelle in Nowhere Fast for the same station. Emma played Gyda in series six of Vikings.

Ciara O’Callaghan is best known as Yvonne Doyle, one of the more extreme characters in the RTÉ series Fair City. In his role as dramatist for that series, Gary Duggan loved writing for her.
