Moycullen topped the poll in terms of turnout with an incredible 61% of voters casting their vote in yesterday’s local election.
Next best on turn-out was Spiddal on 54% with Kinvara on 53%, which will probably benefit Fine Gael’s Paul Killilea who has replaced outgoing Councillor Joe Byrne on the ticket.
The average turnout across Galway county and city was in the region of 47%.
