The extent of rubbish and littering around Galway City is damaging to its image and reputation.

That was the concern expressed at a meeting at City Hall this week.

Councillor Shane Forde said there clearly aren’t enough bins available, especially during tourist season.

He wants bins that are bigger and more obvious to be installed.
