Marc Roberts will return to Galway’s Town Hall Theatre on Friday, November 30, with his hugely popular show, A Tribute to the Music of John Denver.
When John Denver was tragically killed on October 12, 1997, the world lost one of its greatest singer-songwriters – and Marc demonstrates just how great he was courtesy of this critically acclaimed and award-winning show.
A Tribute to the Music of John Denver is a multimedia journey through John Denver’s life and music, including the hits such as Annie’s Song, Leaving on a Jet Plane, Take me Home Country Roads, Some Days are Diamonds, Calypso and Thank God I’m a Country Boy.
Marc will be joined on stage by his musical director Terry Byrne and special guest, singer Kathy Crinion – whose voice is reminiscent of Karen Carpenter’s – with whom he has just released the duet, Love Again. Máirín Fahy on fiddle and multi-instrumentalist Yvonne Fahy will also join Marc as he performs John Denver’s hits.
A Tribute to the Music of John Denver has been a huge success here in Ireland, selling out theatres including Dublin’s National Concert Hall. It toured in the UK, Germany. Belgium, Australia, Tasmania and Denver’s home town of Aspen, Colorado.
In addition to performing this tribute show, Marc is a well-known radio presenter whose show, The Feel Good Factor is broadcast on Galway Bay FM at weekends, and he also presents a show on Europe’s dedicated country music channel, Keep it Country.
Tickets his John Denver show on Friday, November 30, are €25 at tht.ie, 091-569777 or at the Town Hall box office.
