Live Forever give fans a chance to revisit the Oasis glory days

Noel and Liam Gallagher are plugging their solo work these days, but demand remains high for the tunes that shot them to fame. Fans of Oasis can sing their hearts out when the tribute band Live Forever comes to The Loft at Kelly’s Bridge Street on Saturday, December 16.
This five-piece from Clondalkin in Dublin pay tribute to a band that dominated the 1990s and went on to become one of the world’s biggest rock bands before imploding in 2009. The Gallagher brothers always had a tempestuous relationship, but when Liam threw a guitar at Noel, they finally parted ways. And though every year since has brought rumours of a multi-million-pound reunion, they have remained steadfast in pursuing their solo worlds.
Noel will soon release his third album and opened for U2 on their recent European tour, while Liam released his debut this year. The younger brother called his album As You Were, and while his attitude and humour have made for some excellent interviews there’s a lack of class to his solo output. Noel’s work is more polished, but it lacks the swagger that Liam bring to his songs.
The Oasis songs are pure rock ’n’ roll, plain and simple. They’ll be well celebrated at this gig, which will make for a good Christmas night out.
■ Doors 9pm, tickets €12.50.
