Life Buoy, an exhibition of work by experimental artist Kristy Verenga is currently showing at the Courthouse Kinvara as part of the Kinvara Area Visual Arts (KAVA) group. Verenga combines media to explore the question ‘Who Am I?’, testing the doors of perception through creativity and producing images that are both narrative and symbolic. She regards the process of painting as being a lifebuoy, with the image being useful floats or markers for sustaining equilibrium.
The show includes works in oil and encaustic, sculpture, photomontage and photographs, with each medium informing the other, according to the artist.
Life Buoy runs at the Courthouse, Kinvara, until June 18, except for Mondays, with opening hours from 12-5pm. All are welcome.
