SECOND-half goals from Gerard Kelly, Conor Gardiner, Cian Duggan and Jason Flynn helped Tommy Larkins move second in Group Two and in pole position for a quarter final spot.
With neither side producing their best hurling in the opening 30 minutes, it was Tommy Larkins who led 0-9 to 0-7 at half time. The key to victory for both sides was simple, which side could up the levels from their first period display in the final 30 minutes of action.
When Kelly netted two minutes in to the second half, Tommy Larkins went through the gears as they began to loosen their shoulders and settle into what had been a stop-start contest up to that point. Craughwell never looked at ease against a Tommy Larkins side that possessed the greater scoring threat on the day.
After Tommy Larkins stretched their lead to eight points, 1-15 to 0-10, two goals in a three minute spell midway through the final half ensured Noel Murphy’s side took home the points. The game’s best player Conor Gardiner exchanged passes with Cian Duggan before rifling home while Duggan got his name on the scoresheet with Tommy Larkins’ third major.
