For those who want to kick-start the new year by brushing up on their jiving skills there’s a four-week course starting in Ballinasloe’s Shearwater Hotel next Monday, January 9, at 8.30pm.
Learn to Jive with Gerard Butler promises fun, fitness and a new skill.
Gerard holds nine All-Ireland titles in different styles of dance and he has travelled the world, sharing his dancing talents. His love of music and dance began in childhood, thanks to his father Seamus and his late mother Lila.
From a young age, Seamus taught him céilí and set dancing while Lila passed on the skills of social dancing. Gerard began his career as a dance teacher at the age of 17 and eventually embarked on it as a fulltime, professional career. He is also involved in arranging dance weekends in different parts of Ireland.
For more details on the classes in Ballinasloe, call Gerard on 087 3643410 or go to gerardbutlerdance.com.
