A political conspiracist organisation gaining ground in Galway and styling itself the Irish Republican Brotherhood (IRB) has confirmed plans to establish ‘kangaroo courts’ – including one in Oughterard.
Chairman of the IRB Supreme Council John D Flanagan – temporary chair of the IRB’s Oughterard Community Council and Co-Op – claimed its proposed courts were ‘filling a void’ in the existing courts system.
The conspiracist organisation that claims lineage to the IRB of the late 19th and early 20th century, has challenged the legitimacy of the State – which it refers to as “Corporate State” – by creating parallel courts and councils.
The IRB refers to the country’s legitimate legal system as “Corporate Court System” and its own planned judicial system as “The Éire Courts”.
In a letter to the Connacht Tribune, following last week’s articles exposing the IRB’s activities in Oughterard, Flanagan stated he wished “to clarify” the position regarding the Éire Courts.
“The Éire Courts are not in competition with the Corporate Court System. The Éire Courts will fill a void that the Corporate Court System can’t fill.
“This position has been delivered to the High Court Judges of the Corporate Court System in Open Court,” Flanagan said.
