Heart of Gold Award celebrates courage of Saoirse Ruane

An award in memory of an inspirational Galway girl who showed such remarkable courage in the face of her terminal illness will be presented to another young Galwegian with a heart of gold at this year’s People of the Year Awards.

Nominations are now being sought from members of the public for the Saoirse Ruane Heart of Gold Award – honouring the memory of the twelve-year-old from Kiltullagh whose bravery, kindness and unshakable spirit touched the hearts of all, at home and abroad.

Nominations are open to young people under 21 or small groups of young people will also be considered. Closing date is November 1, and the award will be presented at the Galway People of the Year Awards function on November 28.

You can email nominations to ollie2robinson@gmail.com.
