A new exhibition by Kerry artist Michael Flaherty is currently showing in Kenny Gallery in the city’s Liosbán Retail Park.
Fermoyle Sky, an exhibition of more than 40 paintings of Ireland’s West coast, will run for the next three weeks.
Born on the Dingle Peninsula in 1950, Michael’s artistic journey has spanned decades and his work is celebrated for its energetic brushstrokes and lush colours, as he captures thelandscapes of his home place
Michael continues to explore Kerry’s beauty in this exhibition, Fermoyle Sky, with subjects including The Blasket Islands, Skellig Michael and Brandon Point. His paintings of the changing skies and scenery of Fermoyle offer a timeless connection to the natural world.
Art critic Aidan Dunne has compared his use of paint and colour to the techniques of Vincent Van Gogh and Paul Henry, praising the work for its spontaneous and lyrical quality. Michael’s art has been shown in galleries in Ireland, Britain, Europe and the US, and is in collections worldwide.
Fermoyle Sky runs until October 15, from 9am- 5pm Monday to Saturday. All pieces are for sale. It can be viewed online at www.thekennygallery.ie.
