The Galway Film Fleadh is hosting an exclusive free screening of Bridgerton next Friday night, June 7, in the city’s Pálás Cinema.
Stars Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton will attend the event, which will offer a sneak peek at the forthcoming third series from Netflix and Shondaland. Fans will have the chance to celebrate Nicola Coughlan’s international success and welcome her home to Galway.
In the new series of the hit show, Penelope Featherington (Coughlan) has abandoned her crush on Colin Bridgerton (Newton) after hearing his harsh words last season. Now, she seeking a husband who will let her maintain her double life as Lady Whistledown.
However, her lack of confidence leads to failed attempts in the marriage market. Meanwhile, Colin returns with a new look and swagger, but she keeps her distance. He offers to mentor her confidence in a bid to regain her friendship, but soon questions if his feelings are purely platonic. Meanwhile, Penelope’s rift with Eloise (Claudia Jessie) and her growing social presence threaten to expose her secret identity.
The special screening will take place on Friday, June 7th, at 7.30pm at the Pálás Cinema and the free tickets will be allocated through a lottery system.
To apply, people should fill out the application form at www.galwayfilmfleadh.com by next Tuesday, June 4, at 12pm. It’s for over -18s only.
Those selected will be notified directly by the Galway Film Fleadh.
