Gardaí seize €56,000 worth of cocaine in Galway City

A man in his 30s remains in custody following the seizure of an estimated €56,000 worth of cocaine in Galway last night.
The Galway Divisional Drug Unit searched a house in Castlepark at around 8.20pm and discovered around €56,000 worth of what they believe to be cocaine and €1,800 of suspected cannabis. The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.
A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and he is currently being detained at a Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
