‘Kiss Goodnight’, the new single from Galway singer/songwriter Si Noble, is released on all streaming platforms this Friday.

It’s his second single from his forthcoming album, following his debut solo release, ‘Warm Air’, which came out in July.

The track – as well as his upcoming album – was produced by Ed Harcourt, the Mercury Prize-nominated English singer/songwriter, and recorded in Harcourt’s Wolf Cabin Studio in Oxfordshire.

Driven by acoustic guitar and propulsive sixties Brit-rock energy, the track features biting, Lennon-esque lyrical irony and Kinks-style kitchen sink drama, building to a roaring brass crescendo that evokes a 1920s speakeasy at full tilt.

“I wanted to create a sound that combined the hedonistic excess of a speakeasy in the twenties, with a shootout in a saloon,” says Si.

“Ed Harcourt is doing his best Scott Joplin impression on the piano, and Al Cassidy lets rip in true rock’n’roll fashion on lead guitar. These elements, plus a driving bassline, brass stabs, and a love triangle lyric, make the song really exciting to hear and play.”

The B-side, ‘Home’, with Si backed solely by acoustic guitar and piano, is a gentle, melancholy reflection on finding new love and the pull away from family.

Si is a veteran of the Galway music scene with two decades experience under his belt. He was leader of the Brit-Rock influenced band Mugger Dave, who released the album, What’s She Doing Here? in 2010.

He was also lead singer of indie-rock band Cranky Face, which released a number of singles in the late 2010s.

More recently, Connemara-based Si has worked with Irish language media and arts organisations, such as RTÉ, TG4, and ROSG Productions. He is currently a producer with TV production company Fibín.

Music has never stopped for Si, who has continued working away on the solo material that will comprise his album, The Witching Hour, due for release in February 2026.

‘Kiss Goodnight’ is released this Friday on all streaming platforms and can be downloaded via Bandcamp and iTunes.
