There was an increase of 38 per cent in the number of families supported by Galway Simon last year.

The charity has launched its 2024 annual impact report, which highlights continuing demand for its homeless services.

Overall last year, it supported almost 1,900 people across Galway, Mayo and Roscommon.

Galway Simon says the housing crisis is deepening, and Government and local authorities must take urgent action to deliver more homes.

Carol Baumann, CEO of Galway Simon Community, told Galway Talks the situation is particularly bad in the West.
