JONATHAN Glynn, one of the heroes of Galway’s march to the 2017 All-Ireland hurling title, has worn the maroon jersey for the last time.

The Ardrahan clubman, still only 26, says that he is content to have “that chapter done” in relation to his hurling career at the top level.

Based in New York where he has been travelling back and forth to assist Galway in the championship over recent years, Glynn admitted that it was a “bit of a hassle” trying to keep his inter-county career going.

Scorer of a spectacular individual goal against Cork in the 2015 All-Ireland quarter-final, he is now prioritising his selector role with the New York footballers.
