A number of companies running Leader schemes in the county are among those affected by a moratorium on the payment of grants by the Department of the Environment.
The Leader scheme gives grant aid to individuals and community groups for various developments.
Further letters have been issued this week pointing out that no money can be paid until the Departments gives permission.

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Almost 60% of Galway’s small and medium sized enterprises are investing in training and upskilling their workforce.
That’s according to research by business support and mentoring programme MentorsWork.
They also found that just over half of Galway’s SMEs understand the implications of tech threats, and almost half are up to date with automation and digitalisation.
Acting Director of the Small Firms Association, Elizabeth Bowen, stresses the importance of training and upskilling.
Increased Garda presence across city in light of recent assaults
Galway Bay fm newsroom – There’s now an increased Garda presence across Galway city in light of the recent level of serious assaults.
At this week’s meeting of the City Joint Policing Committee, Chief Superintendent Gerry Roche said assaults causing harm are a serious concern.
He said Gardaí are putting resources into tackling the issue, and foot patrols have been increased.
But it was noted that more Gardaí on the beat means some other specialist units are having to make do with less resources.
Chief Superintendent Gerry Roche says there will be a highly visible presence in the city for the rest of this month.
30 new jobs as Domino’s Pizza opens in Oranmore
Galway Bay fm newsroom –Domino’s pizza has opened a new store in Oranmore, creating 30 jobs for the locality.
The new premises is located in Oranmore Town Centre.
The jobs added include pizza chefs, customer service staff and delivery drivers.
