Funding has been allocated to help establish a new youth mentoring justice service in Galway.
The €75,000 for ‘Le Chéile’ will bring the national volunteer service – which supports families, where the child or young person is involved in or at risk of offending – to Galway.
It provides tailored supports, in partnership with the likes of the Probation Service, An Garda Siochana, and Oberstown Children Detention Campus.
The funding is part of a €3m national allocation for community safety projects, announced by Justice Minister McEntee.
