Fionn sa Spás, which opens this Thursday night at An Taibhdhearc will continue until December 21 at the Irish language theatre on the city’s Middle Street.
Presented by Fíbín sa Taibhdhearc, this year’s pantomime will see Fionn facing his greatest ever challenge.
To prevent the onset of global freezing, the legendary hero must travel to outer space and fight an ancient foe as he tries to save the planet in time for Christmas, before the sun disappears forever.
With their trusty Druid Bódhmall by their side, Fionn and his followers must face their fears of the great unknown in this space panto, which turns an Irish mythological character into super-hero legend.
Fionn sa Spás was written by Séamus Hughes who also directed it. Fionn is played by Myles Feerick, Balor is Mícheál Ó Fearraigh and Bódhmall is Ann Marie Horan.
The show also has a children’s cast and there is live music from Nahuel Tarumbar, Dónal Mc Connon, Bruno Pierucci and Dessie Harrington. There are daytime and evening performances of Fionn sa Spás at an Taibhdhearc for schools and families until Saturday, December 21.
Tickets are €20 per child €18 per adult €60 family ticket (four people). Booking can be done at www.antaibhdhearc.ie or by phone on 091 399277.
