Former TD Anne Rabbitte appointed to Seanad by Simon Harris

Anne Rabbitte, who lost her Dáil seat in the General Election, has been appointed to the Seanad.

Taoiseach Simon Harris has appointed the former Junior Minister and Galway East TD, who was eliminated after the eighth count at the recent elections.

Party colleague Joe Flatherty, a former TD for Longford Westmeath and former Fine Gael TD Alan Farrell have also been appointed to the Seanad.

Meanwhile, Loughrea Fianna Fáil councillor Shane Curley has announced he is starting his campaign today to be elected to Seanad Éireann.

Posting on Instragram, Councillor Curley shared a photo with newly elected TD for Galway East Albert Dolan, saying he is running on the Cultural and Educational Panel.
