Galway Bay fm newsroom – Nobody’s been elected after the fourth count in the Midlands Northwest constituency, which includes Galway.
So far, Luke Ming Flanagan is the only MEP to be elected in Castlebar.
Sitting Fine Gael MEP Jim Higgins has been eliminated, and his transfers will redistributed.
Fine Gael are predicting that the bulk of Mr Higgins transfers will go to his Parliament colleague Mairead McGuinness, who is expected to retain her seat.
But Independent Marian Harkin will also be hoping for a sizeable chunk of transfers, she gained almost 12 thousand votes from Ronan Mullen.
Sinn Fein’s Matt Carthy is expected to be the next to take a seat.
