There’s a lot more coming from Fiat in the next few years. Following on from the recent launch of the Fiat 600, we have just been shown the first pictures of the new Grande Panda, the first-born of the new family inspired by the 1980s Panda, a compact family mover which responds to the needs of customers worldwide.
Indeed, the new Fiat Grande Panda is the first model of the new global line-up based on a multi-energy platform, as Fiat starts its transition from local-based production to a global offer through a common global platform.
The Grande Panda will first land in Europe, Middle East, and Africa, and will be available in both electric and hybrid versions when it arrives on our shores next year.
A recent visit to Italy has shown how popular the Panda is in the homeland, easily out-ranking all others. This new B-segment vehicle is under 4 metres long, with clean lines, well-organised roominess and thanks to its compact volume it will take five people with ease and promises to be perfect both for family comfort and today’s urban mobility.
Fiat chiefs tell us that the Grande Panda has been conceived to project the brand into the future with an innovative and smart use of space, a cool personality and novel features.
They also point towards the special exterior look; a subtle combination of structured lines and soft and bold surfaces that emphasise the robust wheel arches. In addition, the new Fiat Grande Panda’s ‘Italian personality’ becomes immediately apparent through its iconic Italian design, which is synonymous with beauty.
The front is especially strong and sleek look with a glossy black upper grille and cubed headlights. The presence of a skid plate in the lower central part of the bumper contributes to emphasising the SUV look of Fiat’s new baby.
