A fine line-up of properties located throughout Connemara will come under the hammer next week when DNG Martin O’Connor Land Sales host their end-of-year online auctions on December 5.

The online auction offers a choice of properties from a seaside cottage, lands which include commonage holdings to lake side sites and mooring to large plots of seaside land.

The demand in the Connemara region has been excellent for the past few years with buyers coming from all over the country and beyond. Land continues to be an attractive investment for many especially where large holdings are offered for sale.

DNG Martin O’Connor Land Sales have handled the sale of over 30 plots of land in 2024 with a fantastic line-up of properties to be offered for sale on February 13 by online auction with an outstanding hill farm to be offered by Private Treaty in spring.

The offerings in the December’s online auction features a seaside holding at Cuilleain, Carraroe, which consists of c. 8.48 Ha (c. 20.95 acres) with undivided commonage lands.

It has direct sea access with A stone road through land leading to old ruins on the seashore. Listed at a keen AMV of €85,000, it is very close to Carraroe village.

Also, at Cuilleain, Carraroe, they are offering a c. 0.57 Acre plot of Zoned Residential land with tremendous potential for a one-off housing site within walking distance of the village. It has an AMV of €35,000.

In the lake region, two offerings include a lovely plot of land at Cloghbrack, amounting to c. 3.58 Ha (c 8.84 acres) of good grazing land located between Cornamona and Clonbur. The lands enjoy excellent views with potential for a site SPP. This is an ideal starter holding with an AMV of €35,000.

Across the lake on the Glann shore, Oughterard, there is an elevated plot of land of c. 0.30 Ha (0.74 Acres) overlooking Lough Corrib with mooring. The property had previous planning for the construction of a house. It is an excellent opportunity for those with a local housing need. AMV €25,000

Various commonage holdings in the region include lands at Kilkieran, which has an undivided 1/116th share of 555.71 Ha (1,373.15 Acres). This has an AMV €10,000.

At Loughwell, Moycullen a fine holding of c. 57.98 Ha (143.26 Acres) to which there is a 1/3rd undivided share, it comes with an AMV €50,000.

And at Derrough, Bovroughaun, Rossaveel, undivided shares to three land commonage holdings of land totaling c. 37.79 Acres with an AMV €30,000

Looking forward to the Spring 2025 Online Auctions on February 13, there are three fine properties which will include lands at Eighterard, Oughterard of c. 3.46 acres of good quality land laid out in one large field. In an excellent location within walking distance to Oughterard village accessed by its own private road. It has mains water supply. Easy access to electricity network. AMV €50,000.

Another fine holding of land is at Pollagh, Rosscahill,which has c. 7.693 Ha (c. 19 acres). The land is a mixture of level grazing land together with some woodland and land that needs improvement, it has excellent site potential SPP. AMV €120,000.

The third lot is for the sale of a property at Slate, Lettermore, which is a magnificent coastal site of c. 1.50 Ha (3.71 acres) with cottage ruins and direct sea access on the Connemara Isles. AMV €75,000.
