Belfast-born singer-songwriter Niall Teague and Galway singer-songwriter Pádraic Joyce will be in concert in Druid’s Mick Lally Theatre this Saturday, December 17, performing material from their back catalogue and their forthcoming album, which is due for release next year.
Their band will feature guitarist Neil Fitzgibbon and piper and singer Maidhc Ó hÉanaigh and they’ll also be joined by special guests, the Treo Ensemble.
Pádraic and Niall first met in Galway City and united by their passion for music and lyrics, began working together. Since then, they have developed a folk style that’s influenced by Americana, country and blues. Much of their new material is based on local and Irish events, people and places.
Their albums include Witness by Moonlight (2009), Niall Teague and The Fast Company (2010), Big Red Bridge (2018) and 2020’s Taobh le Taobh.
Ros a’ Mhíl man Pádraic brings an Irish language element to the duo – Taobh le Taobh, an Irish language collaboration, features regularly on RTÉ, while their track, Ar Saoire, won the 2018 PanCeltic International song contest.
