A Galway dental practice was recognised for its longstanding commitment to the highest of standards – after it was named the best in Ireland at the industry’s national awards in Dublin recently.
Dr Paul Moore of Gate Dental Clinic was first honoured for Best High Technology in a Dental Practice – and he then took home the overall prize for the Best Dental Practice at the Irish Dental Awards at the Mansion House in Dublin.
Paul has been a dentist for 38 years and, together with Hazel Hendy, he has been developing the practice since 2000, joined by colleagues Dr Ian Wellings and Dr Brian Delgado.
His Gate Clinic was the first to incorporate the advanced “Cerec” cad-cam computerised system in Ireland. With a mini 3D camera to take the impressions which allows all porcelain fillings, crowns, veneers and bridges, in one visit your new smile can be created and customised to your needs, aesthetics and function.
The practice also introduced the first ever 3D I-Cat cat scanner in Europe to allow dental implant planning, placement with intravenous sedation and restoration all under one roof, in-house from start to finish.
“We use the latest technology as a tool if it will help efficiency and precision. But dental care is about people,” he said.
“The practice philosophy has always been to welcome anyone to the practice as a person looking for our help, listen to them carefully, examine thoroughly and discuss our observations, diagnosis and treatment options, to find the best solution for their needs,” he added.
