Galway City Councillor Mike Cubbard is expected to top the poll in City Central for the third time in a row – a feat never achieved before in this LEA.
The Independent is on 19.3% according to a final tally. Fine Geal will hold two seats, with Eddie Hoare (17.3%) and Frank Fahy (10.2%) both pulling in big votes.
Fianna Fáil newcomer Josie Forde will hold the seat won by Ollie Crowe in 2019, with 9.9% of votes tallied.
Green Party Martina O’Connor (4.5%) is in trouble and will lose her seat based on the tallies.
Labour’s John McDonagh will regain a seat in City Central for the party for the first time since 2014 – at his third attempt. He’s on 8.6%.
The Social Democrats Eibhlín Seoighthe (7.5%) could take the last seat, although Sinn Féin’s Mark Lohan (6.5%) could catch up if transfers go his way.
Two Tirellan NS boxes and one Claddagh box were not tallied.
Votes have been transferred to Westside for the official count.
