Croí, the heart and stroke charity, is delighted to announce the eighth annual Croí Night Run, taking place on Friday, October 7.
This year’s Night Run is sure to be a special event with Croí’s return to the Salthill Promenade in Galway for the first time since 2019, while also keeping the option to participate virtually from anywhere.
So you can join the Prom group or just run, jog or walk 5km in aid of Croí wherever it suits you – and every cent raised will go directly to supporting Croí services.
This supports the charity’s health and support initiatives and programmes including Heartlink West, the free community helpline, and the Croí Courtyard Apartments, which are free to families in need while their loved ones receive heart or stroke care.
All abilities and ages are welcome to join to run, walk or jog the 5km. The run will be chipped timed and so all participants will receive a text with their time after the event – a real bonus for the more competitive runners!
“Following a hugely successful virtual event last year with participants taking place from all over Ireland and the world, we continue to encourage participants to take part in their own local area on Friday, October 7, at 8pm (or from wherever and whatever time is most suitable), and run, jog or walk 5km in aid of Croí,” said Christine Flanagan, Croí’s Director of Fundraising.
“People living with heart disease and stroke need our help now more than ever before, so we ask you to please join us from near or far and help us fight heart disease and stroke together,” she added.
Sponsors Irish Life have also created a Croí Night Run challenge on their health and wellbeing app, MyLife. The MyLife challenge gives everyone the opportunity to walk, run or jog 5km in a location of their choice and track it within the MyLife app from October 7 to 8.
For every participant in the challenge, Irish Life Health and MyLife will donate €5 per participant to Croí up to a max. of €5,000. All MyLife challenge participants who track 5km or more will go into a draw to win one of ten €50 Adidas gift cards.
