Country music fans will be making their way in droves to Galway’s Town Hall Theatre on Sunday week, November 16, for a night in the company of Michael English.
Michael, one of the most popular performers on the Irish country scene, continues to pack venues across the country and headline major festivals throughout Ireland.
Fans can look forward to an evening filled with country classics and chart-topping hits, including audience favourites like Nearest to Perfect, Tuam Beat, and many more.
And the beat in Tuam will also be very much on the cards for another country superstar because Declan Nerney is at Tuam’s Ard Ri House Hotel this Saturday night.
Fans there will be treated to a sneak preview of some of the 14 new songs on his album which will also be released this weekend – and they will see, and hear, the two sides of the star, the new and the old, live.
It was his unique version of Stop the World and Let Me Off, which was only a minor Top 20 hit in America for Susan Raye back in 1974, that became a number one for him here – and he hasn’t looked back since.
“I hope we might have another hit like that on the new album as it has become a career song for me no matter where we play and it’s still even a hit in the discos,” he says.
“I suspect we might have to play it more than once at our Tuam dance this Saturday night, that and The Hooley in the Sun are among our most requested songs,” he concluded with a laugh.
Tickets for both concerts are already selling fast, so to ensure your place at Michael English’s concern, you can call the Town Hall Theatre on 091 569777 or visit www.tht.ie for more details.
