Cois Cladaigh Choir, under their director Daniel Beuster, will present a concert in the city’s St Nicholas Church on Saturday, December 17, starting at 8pm.
It’s in aid of COPE Galway which provides support to people who are homeless, women and children who are experiencing domestic abuse and to older people in the community.
The concert will be a rich tapestry of Christmas music, evoking light, merriment and community celebration in the darkest time of year.
The programme will include the traditional hymn Jesus Christ the Apple Tree set to music by Elizabeth Poston, My Lord has Come by William Todd, In the Bleak Mid-Winter with words by Christina Rosetti and music by Gustav Holst, Jul Jul, with lyrics by Edward Evers and music by Gustaf Nordqvist, Come Sleep by award-winning Australian composer Daniel Brinsmead with lyrics by John Fletcher, and Make We Merry by Irish composer Rhona Clarke.
All are welcome to what promises to be a wonderful evening of choral music in aid of a good cause.
Tickets will be on sale at the door, costing €15 and €10, and doors will open at 7 30pm.
