A training programme to try and prevent suicide will take place in the city next month.
It’s being organised by the National Suicide Prevention Programme and bereavement charity, Console.
The programme, called QPR – Question, Persuade & Refer – is aimed at enabling people to save lives.
The QPR programme will train ‘gatekeepers’ to recognise the warning signs of suicide, how to offer hope and then how to offer help.
The day-long training event will take place at NUIG on April 16th with a fee of 75 euro.
