Two sitting councillors have been re-elected in Galway City East.
Fianna Fáil’s Alan Cheevers, poll-topper, and Independent Declan McDonnell have been elected on the 11th count, after the distribution of Independent Michael Tully’s transfers.
They join Mike Cubbard (Ind) and Eddie Hoare (FG) who were elected at midnight Saturday.
Social Democrat Justine Delaney Heaslip has now been eliminated, and her votes will now be redistributed as part of count 12.
Terry O’Flaherty (Ind) is in line for the third seat.
Then there are four candidates battling for the final three seats, including Councillor Michael John Crowe (FF), Helen Ogbu (Labour), Shane Forde (FG) and Aisling Burke (SF).
