Galway Reinterpreted, an exhibition of work from members of the city’s NOVA Contemporary Art Collective will run at the Westside Arts Centre from next Tuesday, July 9, until Friday, August 31.
Working in a variety of media, the artists have created images that they feel reflect the changing face of Galway. They observe the spirit of the city and how it has adapted to both welcome its new citizens and to face an innovative future. Galway Reinterpreted is a prism through which the artists observe the city.
The NOVA Collective comprises Katie Burke, Deirdre Crowley, Maria Donegan, Aine Doherty, Roisin Doherty, Anne Greene, Emer McDermott, Hugh Murphy, Megan Mulcahy, Caoilfhionn Ní Cheallaigh, Louise O’Boyle, Tonita O’Dwyer, Helen Roberts and Beatrice Stapleton. All are visual arts graduates from ATU.
Galway Reinterpreted will open next Tuesday in the city’s Westside Centre.
