Paid parking in the town of Ballinasloe is deterring people from shopping locally and small businesses are suffering
That’s according to local Councillor Declan Geraghty who’s calling for one hour’s free parking in the town
He says its inconvenient for people to get a parking ticket when they want to run into a shop for just 5 minutes
Councillor Geraghty says local people should be able to ‘nip’ into a post office or café without having to pay for parking
