Book of condolence for Albert Reynolds opens at City Hall

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A book of condolence has been opened at City Hall on College Road for former Fianna Fáil Taoiseach Albert Reynolds.
The 81 year old politician passed away yesterday.
The book of condolence can be signed at City Hall until 4 o’ clock today.
Meanwhile, Albert Reynolds will repose at the Mansion House in Dublin tomorrow and the former Taoiseach’s State Funeral will take place at the Sacred Heart Church in Donnybrook at 12pm on Monday.

Galway Gardaí investigate city assault

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Gardaí in Galway are investigating an assault in which a young man was injured on Quay Street over the weekend.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday morning when a male in his late teens was assaulted.

Gardaí say the victim sustained a non life threatening injury.

No arrests have been made and a Garda investigation is ongoing.

Ballinasloe Draft Local Area Plan goes on public display

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Draft Local Area Plan for Ballinasloe is now on public display.

Written submissions or observations can be made until December 3rd.

The draft plan and associated reports for the period from 2022 to 2028 are available for inspection at the planning office in County Hall at Prospect Hill in the city, at Ballinasloe Library or at Ballinasloe area office.

It can also be viewed online at consult.galway.ie

All submissions received in the consultation period will be taken into consideration before the plan is adopted by Galway County Council.

It’s due to a burst watermain.
