Best-selling writer and podcaster Blindboy is coming to Leisureland on Sunday, February 15, at 8pm with the Blindboy Podcast, which has now exceeded 80 million listeners globally.
He’s been described by the New York Times as “a cultural phenomenon”, while the Guardian stated that Blindboy – real name David Chambers – had “changed podcast culture forever”, with his mix of literature and the spoken word.
The Limerick City man’s podcast tours have already sold out worldwide, from Toronto to Brisbane, to London’s Hammersmith Apollo.
In his informed and empathetic podcast, Blindboy is always ready to speak his mind, while his acerbic wit makes him an audience favourite.
At a ceremony in London in November, he received the Grierson Award for best Documentary presenter for his RTÉ programme, Blindboy: The Land of Slaves & Scholars. It was the first RTÉ documentary to win the award in 20 years.
■ The Blind Boy Podcast Live is coming to Galway, Dublin, and Belfast next month, and is in Leisureland on February 15. Tickets from www.ticketmaster.ie
