Have a startup idea you can’t stop thinking about? NDRC Founder Weekend is returning to Galway this weekend at PorterShed, giving aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to build something real in just two days.
This fast-paced weekend brings together founders, developers, designers, and problem-solvers to turn early-stage ideas into pitch-ready startup concepts.
With guidance from experienced mentors, participants will validate ideas, create mockups, and learn how to present to investors.
Previous participants like Aaron Devitt of MARC and Emma Meehan of KinetikIQ both used Founder Weekend to develop their ideas and meet the right people.
They’ve since gone on to build promising companies with the support of the NDRC network and have been accepted on to this years Accelerator Programme.
Over the course of the weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, more than 50 entrepreneurs will collaborate with over 25 mentors and speakers. The event includes practical workshops, one-on-one mentoring, and a final pitch session to a panel of judges.
Founder Weekend is designed to help people stress-test their startup idea, connect with others in the ecosystem, and gain hands-on experience in what it takes to launch a business.
Whether you’re coming in with a fully formed concept or just a hunch, you’ll leave with new skills, valuable feedback, and a clearer path forward, according to the organisers.
Applications are now open. The event takes place at PorterShed a Dó, 15 Market Street in Galway City this Saturday and Sunday and is operated by NDRC, Ireland’s national startup accelerator.
