ART GALLERY SAVED BY CITY COUNCIL

City Councillors have agreed to provide funding to the city's 126 Gallery to cover a shortfall in rent.
A group of representatives from the Queen Street gallery attended this week's meeting at City Hall and secured 8 thousand euro in funding.
It followed a motion from Cllr Collette Connolly, seconded by Cllr Ollie Crowe.
The money will come from the Arts grants 2013 pot and it was also agreed that the Arts Officer is to meet with the board of the gallery.
Cllr Collette Connolly says the group had suffered a significant cut in the 2012 budget and the approval of this allocation is welcome.
