Galway Bay fm newsroom – An Post is being urged to consider opening a local post office in Knocknacarra.

Fianna Fáil election candidate for the Galway City West ward David Burke, says that a Knocknacarra post office would have a clear viability- as it would be in close proximity to over 5,500 households.

He’s asking An Post to put plans and funding in place to provide a more accessible service for the people in the area.

Mr Burke says it’s unfair to expect people to travel to use a basic service.
