Toyota Ireland has welcomed the announcement by Minister for Transport, Darragh O’Brien, confirming the reopening of the 2025 Electric Small Public Service Vehicle (eSPSV25) Grant Scheme this week.
With nearly €5 million in funding available, eligible taxi, hackney, and limousine drivers now have another opportunity to access generous grants of up to €20,000 (or €25,000 for wheelchair-accessible vehicles) when scrapping older vehicles and making the switch to a fully electric SPSV.
With limited funding and high demand expected, early application is crucial to avoid missing out on this valuable opportunity.
Toyota gives the example of their all-electric, zero-emissions bZ4X which will be available with a starting price of €22,950 when customers avail of the grant.
With a WLTP range of up to 505km, the Toyota bZ4X is engineered to meet the demanding daily requirements of taxi drivers, ensuring ample range for multiple fares and long shifts without the need to charge.
The efficient battery technology and rapid charging capabilities mean less downtime and more time on the road. Plus, for added peace of mind, the Toyota bZ4X is backed with a 15 year or 1,000,000 Km battery extended care program from Toyota .
Full details on the grant and how to apply can be found on the National Transport Authority’s website.
