ABBEYKNOCKMOYS DECLAN GANLEY RESOLVES MAGAZINE DISPUTE

Lawyers for Abbeyknockmoy resident, Declan Ganley and the Village magazine have resolved their dispute over an article about the Libertas founder which described him as a "snakeoil salesman".After some discussions this afternoon the magazine bosses said that while they strongly uphold their right to engage in vigorous investigation and comment on matters of public interest, they acknowledged that it would have been preferable to have interviewed Ganley before printing the article.Mr Ganley claimed the article made very serious allegations concerning his business dealings in Iraq.Mr Ganley had brought an application to force the magazine to withdraw all copies of the latest edition but now the publication and Mr. Ganley have agreed to do an interview on a wide range of issues.The matter has been put back for mention two weeks time.
