Weird and Wonderful, a group exhibition from Viv French, Di Rock, Wishbone and Lorna Burrows will open in the Courthouse, Kinvara, this Sunday, March 19, and will run until April 1.

It’s being held under the auspices of KAVA, the Kinvara Area Visual Arts group. Viv French, Di Rock and Wishbone are KAVA members while Lorna Burrows is guesting with the group. KAVA is a community arts group based in Kinvara and open to all. Its aim is to promote and support the visual arts and the artist and to embrace creativity in the Kinvara area.

Most of its 60 members are either full or part-time artists working in a range of areas- sculpture, ceramics, glass, photography, paint, print and graphics.

The three local artists taking part in Weird and Wonderful have a highly-varied approach to their art. Wishbone produces realist works. Di Rock paints colourful textured abstract pieces and Vivien French works in mixed media, including sculpture and textiles.

■ The exhibition is open from 11am to 5pm daily at the Courthouse in Kinvara.  The official opening will take place this Sunday, March 19, with guest speaker, the ceramicist, Diane Reid.
