Fíbín Theatre Company, Ireland’s biggest Irish-language theatre company, will go on a nationwide tour next April with Tóraíocht, their version of the epic tale, The Pursuit of Diarmuid and Gráinne.
Tickets are now on sale for the shows and are being offered as part of a Christmas Gift campaign by the company.
Tóraíocht, written by award-winning playwright Philip Doherty and directed by renowned actor and director Mikel Murfi, is a love story full of outlandish feats and monsters as Diarmuid and Gráinne attempt to stay one step ahead of Fionn and the Fianna.
A cast of six – Gráinne Bleasdale, Méabh Ní Chualáin, Kate Finegan, Liz Fitzgibbon, Fionnuala Gygax, and Seán T. Ó Meallaigh – will play over 30 characters, using mask work as they perform the epic tale.
The performances will be complemented by superb visuals. The show will feature Irish and English, and all performances will have English subtitles. Set design is by Sabine Dargent, who has won many awards for her work.
