Galway’s own Rob Wade returns to Monroe’s Live on Friday next, June 15. The singer-songwriter’s latest single is Living in The Moment, a mix of singing and rapping that seeks to accentuate the positive.
And he has lots to be positive about as he recently opened for multi-million selling rapper, The Game, on the Californian’s Irish tour.
Rob Wade made his debut with the 2011 single My Life Story, a song that comes across like a Galwegian’s answer to Eminem’s Lose Yourself. The song blazes a hedonistic trail before the narrator comes to see his life in a different way. It also deals with losing friends to suicide and has a chorus that’ll stick in your head. The track went on to win an International YouBloom Award, for which Bob Geldof was the head judge.
Rob followed that with Canvas of Life, a song that built on the template from My Life Story. This time the track was built around upbeat keys and acoustic guitar. The uplifting message of his songs was picked up by Aslan and Damien Dempsey, and the singer has been invited to open for both acts.
Rob Wade will be joined by a full live band for this gig, where punters can expect to hear all his singles and a few more tunes to boot.
Doors 8pm, tickets €10.
