Peugeot’s new 5008 seven-seater SUV will take pride of place in Peugeot dealerships, alongside the Peugeot 2008, Irish Small SUV of the Year 2017 and the revolutionary new 3008 SUV, Irish Car of the Year 2018, during the Peugeot SUV Drivetime event up to Friday December 22.
Big sister to the multi award-winning Peugeot 3008 SUV, the new 5008 is a departure from its former traditional MPV body shape. Featuring three rows of seats, as before, it now houses the new Peugeot iCockpit and digital instrumentation across the range, morphing into a more sophisticated, stylish vehicle that combines efficiency with high-levels of safety and technological equipment. The range starts from €29,345 plus delivery related charges for the Access 1.2 130bhp PureTech petrol version.
“The Peugeot 2008 SUV and the new 3008 SUV have both been huge sales successes in Europe and indeed in Ireland, outperforming the Irish market in 2017,” said Sales and Marketing Director at Gowan Distributors, Peugeot Importers in Ireland, Colin Sheridan.
“Given the success of the previous 5008 MPV, the 2nd best seller in its class in 2016, I have every confidence that the new Peugeot 5008 SUV will build on this strong commercial success. Consumer interest in Ireland in SUVs continues to be strong and Peugeot as a brand is very well positioned now to maximise growth opportunity, particularly with our fantastic 1.2 petrol 130bhp engine, in manual and automatic guise. Specifically for the Irish market, we also offer a spare wheel as standard on all except the GT version,” he said.
