Outrage over plans to axe city bus services

There are concerns over plans to axe a number of busy bus routes in the city.
The 8.30am Bus Eireann service from Westside to Claddagh is to end, along with the 1.30 and 2.30 services from Claddagh to Westside via Salthill.
SIPTU says the 14.35 service from Scoil Einde to Seacrest will also come to an end.
The services carry a large number of pupils who attend schools in the city and the Salthill/Knocknacarra area.
It’s understood the services will end after the Halloween mid-term break, due to a lack of funding from the National Transport Authority.
City Councillor Frank Fahy told FYI Galway that if the services are cancelled, it’ll be a major blow to families and workers across the city.
