A multi-million euro refurbishment and upgrade at the Clybaun Hotel has paid immediate dividends – with the facility now celebrating its new four-star classification from Failte Ireland.

The Knocknacarra hotel underwent an extensive refurbishment and upgrading of facilities and amenities at the hotel over the last year and a half – and that has now been recognised.

“We are delighted with our four-star classification,” said Fintan Loftus General Manager of the Clybaun Hotel.

“Refurbishment work started in March 2015 when the hotel’s ballroom was completely refurbished and remodelled. The function suite now caters for weddings and large events up to 300 people. All 100 bedrooms were also refurbished to a very high standard with all very different themes and designs giving our guests the perfect unique experience,” he added.

The hotel has also introduced the brasserie-style O’Gorman’s Bar – and its newly created Maritime restaurant which caters for large parties up to 50 persons.

“The staff at the Clybaun Hotel have worked very hard to achieve the high levels of service and commitment required for this classification,” said Clybaun Hotel Sales & Marketing Manager Dermot Hogan.

“The feedback that we receive on a daily basis from both first time and repeat guests has further cemented our growing reputation.

“Our wedding business has really taken off since the ballroom was completed and we are extremely busy with show arounds and wedding consultations on a weekly basis. We have bookings in for 2017, 2018 and 2019 and we forecast our wedding basis to continue to grow in the coming years,” he added.
