Galway Bay fm newsroom – Landowners along a preferred corridor for a bypass of the city have held what’s described as a ‘positive’ meeting with the Transport Minister, Paschal Donohoe.
The meeting was organised by Galway West T.Ds, Brian Walsh of Fine Gael and Independent, Noel Grealish.
A small group of homeowners met with the Minister at Leinster House last evening(1/7) and expressed their concerns about the road project.
There was unanimous support for a bypass of the city to alleviate chronic traffic congestion.
However the landowners didn’t want the process to get tied up for years due to specific difficulties, which is what happened in the past.
Deputy Brian Walsh says the Transport Minister agreed to consider the information provided by the homeowners.
