Portumna woman Orla Kelly has just landed a Christmas bonus for her local hurling club – after winning the Specsavers Look for Longer competition. And the staff at Specsavers Eyre Square presented Orla with €2,500 for Portumna GAA Club.
The innovative campaign tests GAA fans on their county team knowledge by asking them to identify the 32 counties via a series of cryptic clues displayed on posters and digital formats throughout the country. For the fifth consecutive year, Specsavers is the official sponsor of Hawkeye, the state-of-the-art ball tracking system used in hurling and football games at Croke Park.
“We are extremely grateful to Orla for nominating our club. We would also like to express our gratitude to Specsavers for providing this generous contribution which will hugely help improve our facilities in Portumna that will benefit all of our players in the local community,” said Portumna GAA Club chairman Denis McLaughlin.
